Sometimes you just have to embrace the chaos.

I loved that this family wanted to do their session in their home and chose a more documentary style. Sometimes it's unrealistic to think all four of your kids are going to sit in one spot, look at the camera and smile. These parents knew their children would not do that and they really wanted to show their family as they really were and the photos turned out wonderful. I adore the look between mom and dad in this shot. Beautiful chaos...

Spring Tx Maternity Portrait Photographer

Maternity portraits are one of my favorite types of portraits to do. What a special time in a couples life. Whether it be a first pregnancy or their fourth, it's always so exciting awaiting that precious baby. 

I also love the color dress this beautiful mom-to-be chose. The blue makes a nice contrast to the earth tones she's surrounded with and the flowy style of the dress is not only flattering but comfortable to be outdoors in when the weather is quite warm which living in Texas, is 9 months of the year!

Yes, yes and YES! As much as I LOVE these words and want them to be my mantra, there are days when it feels next to IMPOSSIBLE to keep that positive mindset. Mornings when Lily can't get all of the knots out of her hair and we are late because she can't find her shoes and we walk out of our house and the 90 degree temperatures slap us the face (we live in Texas), so I'm sweating before I even reach the car and getting into my car I spill my coffee onto my only clean work shirt. Yes, those are the mornings when it's SO HARD to stay positive. Those are the morning when I pray for patience and for the positive mindset that I desperately need. I breathe, re-set, and think positive thoughts. Most of the time it works. On the days that it doesn't I just keep in mind that tomorrow is a new day. A new day for a positive mind, positive vibes and a positive life...

Sweet sisterly love. This sweet girl was so happy to have her photo taken with her new baby brother. She was so protective and loving to him it just made my heart smile. She wanted their photos to be perfect so she did several wardrobe changes to make sure she looked her best. Lol.

I got to spend the weekend with my two best friends and their families. We had such a great time and I SO needed the down-time and to just be able to relax for the weekend. Right now with juggling a full-time job and my photography business, any time I get to just hang out and do nothing is time I relish.

I'm also happy all the kids got to spend time together. It seems our lives are just so crazy that even though we live close together, we hardly get to see each other. There's no better place to spend the weekend than the lake. Swimming, jet skiing and water balloon throwing were the highlights of the weekend and I'm so happy I got photos of it all!
